I have started a new chapter in my professional career. To celebrare, I'm also beginning a new "Edublog". Click the title below to check it out and learn more!
I have been busy lately with other projects so have not been adding much to this site.... until TODAY!!!! That is right, it was time to get back to my passion project, this site.
Under the section "Teacher Resource Sites" you will notice that I have added a new section for "CODING". Check it out!! There are some videos to help teachers understand the value of adding coding into their teaching. Then there are links to some great coding sites and support materials.
Secondly, I have finally started to add some of my favourite education related "Ted Talks", also found under the Teacher Resource Sites section.
Having my students create using GREEN SCREEN is one of my absolute favourite activities! The students LOVE to use it and we find ways to incorporate it into all subject areas. All you need is the app and either a green sheet, fabric, or paper for the background!
I have created two video tutorials for Green Screen. The first introduces you to the basics. The second shows some basic editing features. HAVE FUN!!
I HOPE that everyone out there has at least CONSIDERED stop motion animation in their classroom!!!! I have used this now with kids from kindergarten through grade 7. I could EASILY go beyond but there are different tech teachers at those levels in our district. Stop Motion Animation combines creativity, collaboration, story boarding, problem solving, and story writing into one simple activity!!! MOST of our schools already have the simple to use app "iMotion"... and others are already even more advanced!! CHECK OUT the video below to see just how simple this is to incoprporate into YOUR classroom!! Contact me if you want / need help!! :)
I would much rather be on the beach than banging my head on the wall with tech frustrations. Hopefully this site has provided you with some ideas to help meet the digital citizens in our classrooms.
